Late abstracts

We wish to thank all authors that submitted a proposal for presentation at Venice 2018! More than 220 abstracts reached the Organising Secretary by the deadline of February 28th, submitted from dozens of different countries.
In order to maximise the opportunity for both professional staff and academics working in our field to share the latest developments across the range of topics represented at Venice 2018, late proposals will be evaluated by the Committee.
Abstracts (at least one but no more than two full pages) should be prepared using the template provided and submitted as a PDF file attachment using the online submission form available.

Abstracts must clearly describe the content of presentations and their basis (detailed case study, discussion of experience from practice, preliminary research data, completed research not presented previously, review of literature, administrative initiatives and regulations, etc) and may be submitted for oral or poster presentation.

The official language of the Symposium is English and all abstracts must therefore be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication.

Please note that the Organising Secretariat will confirm receipt of all abstracts. Authors not receiving an e-mail notifying receipt of their abstract should check with the Secretariat to ensure their abstract has been effectively received.

Abstracts submitted for presentation will undergo a thorough selection process carried out by world leading waste management experts, represented by the Symposium International Advisory Board and Executive Programme Committee. Final destination (oral/poster) will be established according to the following criteria: request by the author, topic relevance, characteristics of the paper (highly specific, preliminary results, case study) and number of papers received on the same topic. Corresponding authors will be notified of the outcome of their submission no later than March 31st, 2018.

All final papers accepted to Venice 2018, including papers scheduled in poster sessions, will be published on a dedicated set of Proceedings. Additionally, authors of leading papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their manuscript to the following international peer reviewed journals: Recycling (MDPI), Waste Management (Elsevier), Detritus journal (Cisa Publisher).
