VENICE 2022 – 9th International Symposium on Energy from Biomass and Waste was held from 21 to 23 November 2023 at the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal in Venice, Italy.
The Symposium was organised by IWWG–International Waste Working Group with the scientific involvement of the Universities of Padova (IT), Queensland (AU), Rostock (DE), Tongji (CN), Zhejiang (CN) and the Technical Universities of Denmark (DK) and Hamburg (DE).
The 2022 edition brought together 219 delegates coming from all around the world, representing 41 different countries. The largest delegation came from South Korea (21 attendees), followed by Germany, China, Brazil.
The programme included more than 160 scientific presentations organised in 3 parallel tracks of oral sessions, workshops and posters, lively social events and outstanding networking opportunities.

Additionally, three social events (one per day) in the marvelous city of Venice amplified the connections between participants in a festive atmosphere. The delegates enjoyed a prestigious selection of Italian wines during the wine tasting and welcome cocktail in the fantastic setting of Hotel Monaco, a traditional Bacaro tour with local guides and friends and a Gala Dinner in typical Venetian style which was certainly unforgettable.
