SESSION C10 / 25 November 2026 / 10:45 - 12:00
Workshop - IEA Bioenergy Task 33: Biofuels and Biochemicals II
Chair / Presidente: J. Hrbek (AT)

Organised by: Jitka Hrbek - IEA Bioenergy Task 33 (Gasification)

The workshop will explore the potential of gasification as a pathway for producing biofuels and biochemicals from biomass and other renewable carbon-containing feedstocks. It will cover gasification technologies, syngas production and conditioning, and downstream catalytic and biochemical conversion routes to fuels, chemicals and other bio-based products. Particular attention will be given to technological development, feedstock flexibility, process integration, sustainability and the potential contribution of gasification-based pathways to the defossilisation of the transport, energy and chemical sectors. The workshop will also provide an opportunity to discuss current challenges, research needs and opportunities for further collaboration.
