CALL FOR ABSTRACTS NOW OPEN! Deadline for abstracts submission: 20 March 2026
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Authors wishing to present at the conference should submit an abstract (at least one but no more than two full pages) by filling in the submission form no later than 10 March 2026. Abstracts must be prepared using our abstract template and submitted in MS WORD format (.docx).
Proposals must address one of the conference topics and clearly describe the content of presentations and their basis (detailed case study, discussion of experience from practice, preliminary research data, completed research not presented previously, review of literature, administrative initiatives and regulations, etc).
Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentation.
Workshops proposals are also welcome and must be submitted as instructed at this page: Call for Workshops
The official language of the Symposium is English and all abstracts must therefore be written and presented in English.
In addition, the Symposium may include a session to be held entirely in Italian, in order to facilitate the participation of local delegates. Italian authors may freely submit abstracts for inclusion in both English and Italian sessions.
Please note that the Organising Secretariat will confirm receipt of all abstracts. Authors not receiving an email notifying receipt of their abstract should check with the Secretariat to ensure their abstract has been effectively received.
EVALUATION
Abstracts will be selected following evaluation by an international panel of experts. Final destination (oral/poster) will be established according to the following criteria: request by the author, topic relevance, characteristics of the paper (highly specific, preliminary results, case study) and number of papers received on the same topic.
Acceptance of abstracts will be notified only to the presenting author who submitted the document. Authors not receiving the notification of acceptance/rejection of their paper should contact the Organising Secretariat at info@venicesymposium.it
Please note that acceptance of your abstract does not automatically register you in the conference. The author who will present the paper at conference (presenting author) must register and pay the entrance fee within 10 days after receipt of the acceptance notification.
Only one speaker can be appointed for each paper. However, each speaker may deliver up to two presentations during the conference.
If the author who will present the paper is different from the one who originally submitted the abstract, please inform the Organising Secretariat accordingly.
PAPER PUBLICATION
After receipt of the acceptance notification, all presenting authors (including those scheduled for poster presentations) are kindly required to provide a full paper by 20 Settember 2026 for inclusion in the Symposium Proceedings. Authors should fill in the paper submission form providing the following documents:
All papers presented at Venice 2026 will be published on a dedicated set of proceedings (CISA Publisher, ISBN classification). Additionally, a considerable number of leading papers will be selected for possible publication in special thematic issues on international renowned journals.
PRESENTATIONS
Authors presenting their work in oral sessions and workshops will be requested to send their PowerPoint presentations no later than 18 November 2026.
Authors scheduled for poster presentation should display the contents of their paper in a PowerPoint presentation (2-3 slides, horizontal format) and send the PPT file by 18 November 2026.
