11° SIMPOSIO INTERNAZIONALE SULL'ENERGIA DA BIOMASSE E RIFIUTI
HOTEL MONACO & GRAND CANAL, VENEZIA / 23-25 NOVEMBRE 2026

Come arrivare

The Symposium will be held at the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal, located in the heart of Venice, just a few steps from St. Mark’s Square.

Unlike any other city, Venice has no roads for cars or buses. The city is explored on foot and by vaporetto (public waterbus), the main form of public transport and the easiest way to travel around Venice.

⚓ ARRIVING BY VAPORETTO (PUBLIC WATERBUS)

The Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal is easily reached by vaporetto with several waterbus stops located just in front of the hotel: San Marco Vallaresso, San Marco Giardinetti, San Marco San Zaccaria. These stops are directly connected to Venezia Santa Lucia railway station and to Piazzale Roma bus terminal, the last stop for all road vehicles reaching Venice.

From either Venezia Santa Lucia or Piazzale Roma, take vaporetto Line 1 or Line 2 and get off at one of the stops listed above.

✈️ ARRIVING BY PLANE

All major airlines fly into Venice Marco Polo Airport (code: VCE), which is connected to the city by several means:

  • Alilaguna - The easiest way to reach the venue

Alilaguna provides direct water transportation between the airport and the conference venue. The Blue line (Linea Blu) directly connects Marco Polo Airport with St. Mark’s square, stopping at San Marco Giardinetti right in front of the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal.

The trip takes about 1 hour and a half. You can find all details and prices at: www.alilaguna.it/en

  • Bus

There are two bus services to Piazzale Roma: the ATVO Venice Airport Bus Express, faster (about 25 minutes) and leaving in connection with the arrival of many flights, and the ACTV line 5, taking about 35-40 minutes.

Once at Piazzale Roma, you can reach the conference venue either on foot or by vaporetto (as detailed above).

  • Taxi and watertaxi

You can find traditional taxis reaching Piazzale Roma in 20 minutes. Once at Piazzale Roma, you can reach the conference venue either on foot or by vaporetto (as detailed above).

You may also opt to catch a water taxi from the airport to Venice city centre or the hotel.

Treviso Airport (code: TSF) is also directly connected to Venice by ATVO Treviso Airport Bus Express arriving to Piazzale Roma. Once at Piazzale Roma, you can reach the conference venue either on foot or by vaporetto (as detailed above).

🚂 ARRIVING BY TRAIN

The main railway station is called Venezia Santa Lucia, where you will arrive directly in the heart of Venice and can choose to walk to the conference venue (about 30-40 minutes), take a vaporetto ((as detailed above) or a water taxi.
Please make sure to select this station when booking your train, as other stations with "Venezia" in their name are located on the mainland.

🚗 ARRIVING BY CAR

If you arrive by car, you must park at Piazzale Roma, where you can find 3 parking areas open all day long: the Autorimessa Comunale, the Garage San Marco and the Sant’Andrea; another parking option is the Tronchetto, a wide car park on an island very close to Piazzale Roma.
Once at Piazzale Roma, you can reach the conference venue either on foot (about 30 minutes) or by vaporetto. Take Line 1 or Line 2 and get off at San Marco Vallaresso, San Marco Giardinetti, or San Marco San Zaccaria, all located just a few steps from the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal.
