Symposium Programme

The preliminary programme of the Symposium is structured in 4 parallel tracks of sessions. As the conference will be held on a virtual platform, the online tools will give us the chance to introduce new interesting features and to provide a variety of sessions and contents that will enhance the symposium programme.

The traditional oral sessions will be organized as a set of oral presentations, followed by a moderated live discussion in which speakers will answer the questions received by the attendees in the Q&A box. Workshops are primarily focused on open discussion among participants, so they will be highly interactive live-streamed sessions, during which attendees can join the debate with camera and microphone. The sessions will be opened by short introductory lectures that will kick-start the critical discussion among participants.

The new "Meet the Expert" sessions are live sessions featuring keynote speeches delivered by highly reputed scientists who will examine specific topics in great depth and answer questions from delegates. During the "In the Ring" sessions two speakers will discuss a controversial topic on which they have diametrically opposite views, highlighting pros and cons of the issue. A moderator will manage the discussion and introduce questions from the audience in order to fuel the debate.
The Science Slam is dedicated to young scientists who will have the opportunity to present their projects and research works in a captivating way. A jury made up of leading experts will vote for the best presentation and will also be available for comments and suggestions for the researchers.

E-posters will be made available as PDF files, accessible on-demand throughout the conference. Attendees will be able to comment and ask questions to the authors via Q&A and chat.
As per tradition, the Symposium will also include three technical tours which this year will be held virtually.
